23:20. וּבְנָיָהוּ בֶן־יְהוֹיָדָע בֶּן־אִישׁ־חַיִ רַב־פְּעָלִים מִקַּבְצְאֵל הוּא הִכָּה אֵת שְׁנֵי אֲרִאֵל מוֹאָב וְהוּא יָרַד וְהִכָּה אֶת־הָאֲרִיה בְּתוֹךְ הַבֹּאר בְּיוֹם הַשָּׁלֶג ׃

23:20. כ ובניהו בן יהוידע בן איש חי (חיל) רב פעלים מקבצאל הוא הכה את שני אראל מואב והוא ירד והכה את האריה (הארי) בתוך הבאר ביום השלג

23:20. וּבְנָיָהוּ בֶן־יְהֹויָדָע בֶּן־אִישׁ־ [חַי כ] (חַיִל ק) רַב־פְּעָלִים מִקַּבְצְאֵל הוּא הִכָּה אֵת שְׁנֵי אֲרִאֵל מֹואָב וְהוּא יָרַד וְהִכָּה אֶת־ [הָאֲרִיַּה כ] (הָאֲרִי ק) בְּתֹוךְ הַבֹּאר בְּיֹום הַשָּׁלֶג׃

23:20. ‏וּבְנָיָ֨הוּ בֶן־יְהוֹיָדָ֧ע בֶּן־אִֽישׁ־חי חַ֛יִל רַב־פְּעָלִ֖ים מִֽקַּבְצְאֵ֑ל ה֣וּא הִכָּ֗ה אֵ֣ת שְׁנֵ֤י אֲרִאֵל֙ מוֹאָ֔ב וְ֠הוּא יָרַ֞ד וְהִכָּ֧ה אֶֽת־האריה הָאֲרִ֛י בְּת֥וֹךְ הַבֹּ֖אר בְּי֥וֹם הַשָּֽׁלֶג׃

23:20. Benaiah son of Jehoida was a brave warrior from Kabzeel who performed great exploits. He struck down the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in a cistern on a snowy day.

23:20. There was also Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two champions of Moab. Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it.

23:20. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two sons of Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
